Pinehill
Pinehill is a suburb of primarily new homes and businesses nestled between the Northern Motorway to the West, East coast Road to the East, and the light industrial area of Rosedale to the South. It is named after a large stand of pine trees that oncestood on the corner of Greville Road and East Coast Road.
Schools, sport, and convenience are why families are choosing to live in Pinehill. Pinehill Primary School is loved by both parents and children alike. It opened in 1997, and now has over 600 pupils. The school is dedicated to providing a caring environment where children can grow and learn. Meanwhile, Rangitoto College, the largest secondary school in New Zealand, is recognised locally and internationally for it’s academic excellence, sporting achievements, performing arts and the quality of it’s young people.
A short drive or walk! away lies Massey University, a comprehensive university offering students from around the world the best in tertiary study.
Shopping
Wow! Albany Megacentre is New Zealand’s largest shopping mall and will double in size over the next few years, and it is only a stroll away. And right near the Megacentre is North Harbour Stadium for the big football matches.
Transport
This must be the North Shores most convenient location. There are two motorway interchanges to the North and South. There is easy access to the beaches of East Coast Bays and the smaller, main-street shopping precincts of Brown Bay and Mairangi Bay. The new Albany Bus Station whisks residents into Auckland in minutes via the new Northern Busway. There’s a timetable here. Up on East Coast Road regular buses run to Takapuna and Milford.
