Numbers are way up for net immigration flow – 100,800 for the year to June. Of these, 28,000 were NZ citizens returning after being away for more than a year. In June last year, we suffered a net loss of 1550 migrants to Australia. This year, the net loss to Australia was a mere 20. We now have a brain gain!
The majority of newcomers are choosing to settle in Auckland, with its wealth of job opportunities, so this is good news if you’re thinking of selling.
